The arrival of Rihanna on the prestigious Red Carpet of the Annual CFDA Awards in New York, surprised many, delighted most and scandalized few, but who cares about those few.
Rihanna wore a Bedazzling see through Fishnet Gown intricately interwoven with an unspecified number of Swarovsky Crystals, latest creation of her personal Fashion Designer Adam Selman, the man behind her stage outfits.

A daring move and a maybe, just maybe, an unexpected Publicity
boost for Swarovski that will echo in media History. I said maybe because I wouldn't be surprised if Rihanna actually got paid to endorse the brand, after all she is not only a pretty face, she knows the game and she plays it well. Pretty faces alone, don't make it all the way from Barbados to the Top of the World.

But Rihanna's wardrobe choice wasn't only a daring move in my my eyes, it was a Celebration of her Youth and Beauty, she seized the moment, she immortalized it.

In the unstoppable forward stream of life, she will not be 26, on that carpet, on that stage again, New York will not be the same tomorrow, the World will not be the same tomorrow and She will not be the same tomorrow,so she did subconsciously the wisest thing she could, she seized the moment and made it matter.

She Celebrated her Youth, She Celebrated her Looks, She Celebrated the Life she managed to craft for herself.

She was unapologetic of her beauty, she
was glowing and she was comfortable in her own skin.

In one swift move she brought back the 30's and made that Era relevant to a world of Millenials and in the words of Vogue:

"Rihanna has become the rare celebrity who does not follow fashion-she effects it"

She was awarded the prestigious
"CDFA Fashion Icon Award"
directly from the hands of non other than Anna Wintour, Editor in Chief of Vogue, THE force to be reckoned with in the world of fashion, and if we've learned anything from "The Devil Wears Prada" is that clothes are not only clothes and that what Anna says just goes!

In a Tweet, Rihanna wished Happy Birthday to the original Creole Goddess, the woman that so blatantly influenced Rihanna's choices for the night.

Josephine Baker first made history for being the first Female African American to star in Zouzou, a major motion picture.

In her Lifetime, she elevated to the highest artistic expressions her body and nudity, a pioneer in her own right, a dancer, a singer and an undisputed fashion icon and a War Hero, she was awarded the prestigious "Croix De Guerre" for assisting the French Resistance against the Nazis during World War II.
