The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that CBS Commissioned a Pilot centered on Kara-Zor El Aka Supergirl, 24 years old Superman's cousin with the same Powers and the added bonus of being a woman.
The release date is not set yet but what's important is that the first step in the right direction has been made, it's about time that a female Super Heroine takes center stage in the male dominated SH Universe. #GirlPower
